Before expressing my own understanding of the entirety theory I'd like to quote a few words from C.G.Jung which
he wrote as a foreword to Richard Wilhelm's translation of the 'yi jing' (I Tjing - Yi King). Also known as 'the book
of changes, one of the five classics.

Jung states that in all those centuries of wisdom & insight, the chinese people have never felt the need to develop
an analytical science, like we know in the west. Appearently, the old daoïst sages had different ways to gain
knowlegde about the nature of life which still profoundly influences chinese thinking today.

Scientific experiment, executed to prove a certain degree of causality, can prove a statistical 'truth'. Once a certain
statistical 'truth' is established, a very large percentage of exceptions is to be faced and it turns out that nature
behaves just a little different then the 'natural' laws occuring in the separated reality of a laboratory.

It seems that the Chinese, from early on, found a way to gain knowlegde about another kind of truth, that they
consider to be a psycho-physical structure.Understanding the nature of both the form & formless worlds as a unity.
When modern science entered the age of quantum physics, the same psycho-physical structure had to be
acknowlegded.

|
Though not much more then a 'What the bleep do we know' - understanding' of quantum physics, I can safely say,
that on a certain level of very fine matter, the principle of causality doesn't seem to work anymore. The observed
object can no longer be separated from the observer in order to gain an 'objective' truth. The object and its
observer are connected. However quantum physics is far too complicated to just copy the 'fine matter'
phenomenae to the realm of the physical world.

Chinese thinking is looking for a kind of 'truth' (shown to us in the 'yi jing' , used as an oracle book) in which every
aspect , no matter how absurd it may seem, of a certain event in time-space is included. One could say the totality
(entirety) of events connected to that one event.

|
In case of the entirety theory we have the best of both worlds, scientific & holistic context working together.

In qigong language, and to quote zhineng qigong teacher liu jianshe : 'to make your mind so small, you can feel
everything'. 'Feeling' and 'knowing' is more or less the same in chinese language, due to the fact that the word
'shen', meaning 'spirit' or 'mind', is used to describe both mind & heart.

In ancient times, the chinese figured that their thinking, took place in the middle of their chest, in their
heart in which the 'shen', the emperor of all organs & body spirits, resides.
|
|
Hence, the confusion around the translation of 'shen'.
|
|
As it turns out, modern science proves that there is actually more information going from the physical heart to the
physical brain, then the other way around.. So through the blood, the heart is 'telling' the brain how the 'shen' is
'doing'.

The opening of the vase, here represented by a platter, which is placed on 'bai hui', the crown of the head.
Inside the holy grail is the blood (or shen) of Jesus Christ. When we drink this blood we will be absorbed into the
original spirit of divine consciousness (Dao).

An interesting thought to consider is that this vase, like the word 'shen', is also an expression of the unity of heart
& mind. The platter being placed on the crown representing the mind. The blood representing the heart. An
expression of the word 'shen' ,meaning both heart & mind.

This theory was created and given to us by Pang laoshi (teacher Pang - founder of zhineng qigong) and is the
fundamental principle on which all universal wisdom is based. Whether it be from a daoïst, vedic, shamanist or
scientific point of view, it shows us that body & mind, human being & nature, heaven & earth, behave all as one
coherent organism.

This feeling of connectivity and oneness can be found and cultivated within each & every person who has a breath
to breathe.
|
|
To begin to understand the hunyuan entirety theory, or more precisely the hunyuan qi entirety theory ( hun =
mixed,transformed / yuan = one / qi = energy ) , it's good to have an idea of the meaning of one of the most
important concepts in chinese thinking : 'qi' . The equivelant in vedic science is 'prana'.

Qi is the source substance on which the universe is built. Every type of matter, organic & inorganic, living and
non-living, form & formless, vibrating very slow (orbits of planets) or very fast (consciousness activities), is built
from qi.

This is considered to be the source substance of the universe.

Human hunyuan qi
|
|
Human qi is divided in the fysical body qi (fysical field - connected to the lower dantian). Qi of the vital yin organs,
connected to the emotions (emotional field - connected to hunyuan palace). The heart is the centre (between dan
zhong & shen zhu) of the middle dantian. And the qi of the brain called 'yiyuan ti' (mental field - connected to the
upper dantian).

1. chu shi yiyuan ti - prenatal brain qi
|
|
2. zi wo yiyuan ti - background brain qi - qi of the brain of a child before the development of the ego. A very pure
observation of reality.Observing how a baby looks into the world, this is what we see.
|
|
3. pian zhi yiyuan ti - ego brain qi - the brain that identifies the outside world with the inside world, projects the
inside world onto the ouitside world. This is the stage in the psyche of a young child, when it starts to say 'no'. By
doing so , it's separating itself and thus creating the necessary space for the development of the ego.
Unfortunately, this 'me & the rest of the world' -thinking , which we call 'local' thinking, is often the only thinking
we know. Qigong helps us develop the 4th type of brain qi.

| 4. yuan man yiyuan ti - complete brain qi - the brain qi which unites the form & formless world. |
|
These 4 types could be considered as 'layers'. During our upbringing & education different layers are being
develloped.
